Lambeth are currently offering a dedicated fuel poverty scheme through a new charity Fuelbanks and Families, providing a debt management support and advice service and other immediate practical solutions to local families struggling with the challenges of poverty. The council also offer full benefit checks for all people aged 60 and above, people with disabilities or long-term ill health, children and young people with additional support needs living in Lambeth, and their carers. Working in association with Lambeth Social Services, providing one to one social contact for older people living in care homes who receive few or no visitors.

Telecare is available free following assessment from Lambeth Adults’ and Community Services, or the Health Service.
Those who are not eligible following assessment can purchase their own equipment from accredited shops within the borough.

A direct line to home repairs and adaptations for those over 55, in any type of housing.
Will provide signposting to handyperson services (e.g. those provided by Lambeth Age Concern), and in some circumstances can also help those who have major repairs (inc. to the roof or central heating).Some services may charge a small fee, but grants or loans may be available.
