Haringey do not currently operate a dedicated fuel poverty scheme, but there are services available in the borough that may be useful to those experiencing fuel poverty. Haringey 40:20 is a council initiative which has an outreach worker who can offer energy efficiency advice; they are also responsible for the Haringey Big Switch, a collective energy switching scheme for Haringey residents. Haringey are also working with Age UK Haringey to offer a winter handyperson service and enablement project, a short term service for less able older residents. Homes for Haringey are responsible for most of their tenants heating systems, and will respond within 24 hours for total loss of gas heating or hot water.
