A range of services are currently available to help those experiencing fuel poverty in Tower Hamlets. The CSCO scheme allows residents of Tower Hamlets to have free cavity wall insulation where the property is built before 1976. Handyperson services are offered through Age UK and a Befriending service is provided through the Friends and Neighbours scheme. Disabled Facilities grants are available across all tenures. Befriending services including regular home visits.
For older people throughout the borough who are socially isolated or lonely, housebound and/or frail with mobility problems.
Befrienders who speak Bengali, Sylheti, Somali and other community languages.

Only Disabled Facilities Grants are available for all tenures, the other schemes are available to owner occupiers and the private rented sector.
